Shambala Resort & Spa by Sparsa is a beautiful boutique resort nestled amidst grown trees, in the silence of a private plantation in Yercaud, Tamil Nadu. The property consists of 19 gorgeous rooms with sprawling verandas, fantastic al fresco dining, a yoga centre, a conference hall, a fabulous spa, outdoor sports and several walking paths around the plantation.
Shambala, cited as a mythical Buddhist land, is depicted in ancient texts as a hidden land of joy, peace and enlightenment. True to its meaning, the Shambala Resort is intended to be a meditative space, where you can be one with nature, look within, get in touch with yourself and feel rejuvenated. Nachammai Estate, the 24 acre coffee plantation that houses the resort has been lovingly restored for several years, turning it into a fully organic, bio diverse plantation. The estate even has its own pulping machines and a beautiful sun soaked drying yard.
Shambala Resort & Spa by Sparsa is located at Asambur in Yercaud, a charming hill station in Tamil Nadu. Originally a colonial outpost of the British in India, Yercaud was discovered in the year 1820. It is here that plantation life first started with the cultivation of Arabica coffee along with fruit trees like pears and apples, which was then taken up in the Nilgiri mountains.
